Black Hat, Defcon 2010 Pen Test Conference Review

7Safe Principal Security Consultant Sid speaking at Black Hat
The dust is still settling in the desert after the showpiece conference events of the year at Ceasars Palace
And the speakers delivered.
Black Hat opened with some ATM hacking via malware -using physical and network access- to get cash out.
Adobe has now confirmed a security flaw in Adobe Reader (announced at the event by Charlie Miller) that could, allow an intruder to remotely run malicious code on an affected system
And how about the web site that can tell your location (a news report here on this).
7safe CREST Registered Tester Sumit Siddharth (aka Sid), who knows a thing or two about pen testing, was invited to speak at both Black Hat and Defcon this year and gave impressive presentations on Hacking Oracle from web apps.

Alan With Don from The Ethical Hacker Network at the Core Security event
It was also a great event for catching up with the good people of the infosec community; Thanks go out to Mandiant and our US partners Core Security Technologies and FishNet Security for their kind hospitality.
